Chechnya, winter. Heavy snowfall. A man aged 45-47 (Victor) is brought to the hospital, suspected of killing a little girl. You know what bloody revenge is. There is security outside his ward, preventing doctors from entering. Someone influential wants Victor to die from shock, but he needs surgery. A young female doctor (Yulia) tries to break into the ward, crying and shouting that he is, first and foremost, a patient. She succeeds, and the operation is performed.
Later, the case gained publicity in Russia. Legal proceedings begin. He remains in the hospital for some time, communicating with Yulia (via notes on scraps of paper, as he still cannot speak). They get to know each other and fall in love. Then, tragically and unexpectedly for him, Yulia dies. Victor doesn't know if it was orchestrated; he can't do anything as he is still bedridden.
On the same day, the trial concludes. He is sentenced to a long prison term, and that's when the most interesting part begins.
He goes to prison, he is bullied. However, someone decides to communicate with Victor, seeking help for an escape. From this point on, everyone learns a different story. Victor didn't kill anyone; he wanted to save the girl, but there was an accident.
A year passes. As he prepares to escape, his friend in prison is beaten to death. Victor decides to escape alone and succeeds.
His first destination is the grave of the girl from the hospital. In anger, he throws a stone, but behind him is a journalist who, all this time, was conducting another investigation related to corrupt schemes. And this is where we go back to the very beginning of the story.
It turns out, the root cause is significant money. The main character once owed a substantial sum to his partner and didn't repay. That's why Vladimir devised a plan for revenge, depriving Victor of everything valuable.
Now Victor understands who is behind all the events. Hope lies in the journalist who has compromising material on Vladimir. It's time to restore justice, but one catch: no one can be trusted.
There's no point in continuing the story. The script has a very interesting twist that remains a surprise.
The main goal is to show that:
The film promotes critical thinking. It is always necessary to consider the problem from all sides and perceive it more broadly than it seems.
The target audience for this film is young women aged 18 to 30, as the genre is planned to be more drama than thriller. On the other hand, men will be interested in the project due to its dynamic and unpredictable plot.
At the cinema, people can experience the entire range of emotions: from hatred to understanding and sympathy. The film is filled with various characters with interesting life stories (emphasis should be placed on making secondary characters equally interesting). During viewing, consumers must compare some character traits with those in the frame and conclude. Since it is planned as a drama with elements of a thriller and an unusual ending, there should be a desire to watch it again. The intrigue will be maintained until the very end of the film.
